#givingback – Wishes & Waves
Here at FFR Automotive we firmly believe that it is vital that businesses are giving back and supporting our communities positively, directly or indirectly.
That is why we have founded and committed to support a new organisation called The Wishes & Waves Foundation. This organisation is being formed with the sole purpose of offering seaside holidays and daytrips to the ill, elderly and disadvantaged families.
For example: Did you know that 1 in 5 UK families cannot afford a traditional “bucket and spade” day trip. (source Barnado’s childrens charity) They calculated that the cost of a “no frills” day at the seaside for a family of 4 could cost as much as £170 and was at least £41. This was purely based on travel to and from and did not include the traditional bucket and spade, snacks and drinks.
The UK’s poorest families cannot cover basic weekly living costs let alone afford to take their children on a day trip let alone a holiday. This is truly saddening and should not be the case.
Barnado’s raised a very valid point that family holidays and day trips have a special place in the childhood memory box and every child deserves to have a day out once in a while. It is an opportunity for children to spend a healthy, happy time and experience a British cultural tradition; to play on the beach, splash in the sea and build sandcastles.
We at FFR Automotive agree that it is an opportunity every child should enjoy. The benefits of a good day out can be felt for days, months and even years. The above is just an example of one section of society that simply cannot experience something many take for granted.
“I look forward to seeing the results and great work The Wishes & Waves Foundation carries out. I truly believe in the vision and I hope others will too.
Gavin Collier – Director FFR Automotive
“It is so important to us that we use FFR Automotive to help the wider community and this seemed like the ideal way to give back to in such a positive way.
David Jobin – Director FFR Automotive
